That statement is backed up by 74% of voters approving Amendment 1 last year, which requires that the state spend a minimum of 1/3 from real estate transaction revenues on buying and conserving land, improving water quality and refurbishing our springs, beaches, and rivers.
In Miami, we are facing challenges in preserving and conserving our own beautiful backyard: the Pine Rocklands, the Everglades and Biscayne Bay. As developers and conservationists square off, we must debate the best way to balance growth and preservation.
