On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in January more than 700 people turned out for the Rally organized by the Miami Pine Rocklands Coalition and its partner South Florida Wildlands Association.  Many of the participants turned out earlier that morning at Lenny and Penny Thompson Memorial Park to assemble signs in a serene 275 acres of protected Pine Rocklands forest adjacent to the Miami Metro Zoo and near the location that developers want to construct a Walmart, a strip mall and residential complex.  The group was reminded by Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner of the Quote from Dr. Seuss' The Lorax  "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.  It's not."    Listen to the event below.
